WPPI, our big-giant-humongous wedding photography tradeshow and workshop is coming up SO FAST! I can’t wait to be in Vegas. It’s the time to reconnect with old friends, take advantage of mentoring opportunities, learn and grow. This year is no different from any other, I’ve already managed to book my schedule full of fun things, probably too many…

Daniela Fagét of Bella Signature Design is going to be in Vegas this year styling an amazing shoot out at the Red Rock Casino, and I somehow have been convinced to “model” for her! :-) This is a great opportunity to practice with gorgeous decor and florals in a stunning location! You can get more information on the shoot on her blog and sign up using brown paper tickets. There are only 20 spots for the shoot, so hurry along before it sells out!

I’m mostly excited because I get to borrow a dress from a bridal store in Vegas, and have big hair done. It’s going to be amazing. Simply amazing.

Planning a wedding is tough cookies. 99% of the reason we entered the contest, and put ourselves through planning a wedding in 4 weeks is because we couldn’t decide… on eh-nay-thang. There are SO many choices, so many resources, and so many talented people and services to choose from!

Some may say the best way to check out as many wedding professionals as you can in a day, is to attend a wedding show. I’m not really a tradeshow girl. I’m the one in the grocery store that gets to one end and forgets to pick something up all the way on the other side. My feet hurt, I come home with all kinds of crap that I have no recollection of intentionally picking up. WELL, I say, if you give one wedding show a glimpse this year, grab your fiancé and head out to Woodinville on January 30th for the best wedding showcase event of the year. 7 wineries, 80 of the best wedding professionals in Seattle, and a whole lot of wine! This and so much more, is Weddings in Woodinville.

Last year B and I went to this show as Bride and Groom, and we had the BEST time, the BEST. We met our caterer there, tasted some amazing cake (this girl loves cake) and had a blast meeting other couples. It is such an honor for me to say that this year I’ll be showcasing my work at Willows Lodge as part of the show. I’m SO EXCITED because I’m there with some of my favorite people in the world. Jen Taylor from Taylor’d Events is coordinating, Tanya from Elements in Bloom is doing the florals, and Eric Newland from Hybrid Moon will have his video booth there along with many many more awesome professionals! Over the 4th of July this last year, hubs and I joined his cousins at their lovely cabin up North on Eliza Island. Eliza is the type of place you have to boat or fly to, where everything is within walking distance, and everyone you pass on the road is a neighbor and a friend. We had an awesome relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. I can’t manage to go anywhere without my camera, which is a great problem to have because I end up with the ability to capture adorable families like this one!

Sam and Brooke have a busy life with two adorable rambunctious kids, and we chased each other around the island for an afternoon snapping pics.

It’s been a whirlwind 6 months! I can’t believe Charlotte is growing up right before our eyes. You might remember her maternity session here, and her newborn session here! She’s a little gem, and I’m so lucky to know her…. Drool and all.
