Julia and Ryan are the type of couple you only need to be around for about 10 minutes before you get exactly what makes them tick. The perfect balance of yin to yang, peas to carrots, and peanut butter to jelly, they just compliment each other so well. He jokes, she laughs… she plays, he plays back. We braved the weather and roamed around Seattle for an afternoon of gorgeous image capture. These two will tie the knot this October in Las Vegas, the place they first met and fell in love.

On a sidenote, I want to personally congratulate Ryan on one of the BEST, most romantic proposal stories I’ve heard to date. Regular readers know I like to save these proposal stories for the post about their wedding day. I will however tell you that it involved a trip to Paris, and a big surprise waiting for Julia there.

Hello world meet Tate! This gorgeous 8lb 14oz bundle of joy was born to loving parents and was quite possibly one of the easiest babies I’ve yet to meet. He was so happy being photographed, we could have gone on for hours!

If I were to steal children… these would be them. My best friend and sister, Leah is the proud creator, and this is her family. I try to get myself down to San Francisco on a regular basis to spend time with them, meet with brides and photograph families. It’s never long enough honestly. I can see maybe someday taking up permanent residence in this fine city. Until then, I’ll have to watch my nephews grow between photo shoots.

The more I photograph families and children, the more respect I have for my parents. So much time, love and devotion to raise us tiny-humans into bigger humans. Even more love and devotion if you want those bigger humans to have their own individual successes in life. Weddings have always been a place where I can feel love in the air, but these families are a continued example to me what unconditional love, grace, and joy do for the soul.

Meet Evan and Jen, and their little tike Chase. They were one of my San Francisco mini-sessions this last weekend. Evan and Jen are BEST friends. They’ve had their own immersion into parenthood met with every expectation turned upside down. I’m not sure Jen has slept more than a few meager hours in a row since Chase entered the world, and you wouldn’t know.

Evan and Jen are two of the most calm and loving parents and partners I’ve yet to meet. They laugh freely, and love easily. Chase is a lucky man.

Thank you Evan and Jen! It was such a pleasure meeting you and traipsing around the park with you! Looking forward to seeing you again someday soon.
